During the Hellenic Center for European and International Analyses (ELKEDA- http://www.elkeda.gr) Conference on the new situation in the East Mediterranean and the Middle East, Israel’s Ambassador to Athens, Mr. Arye Mekel, spoke about the impressive approach between Greece and Israel in the last 15 months, as well as strengthening ties between Israel and Cyprus.

In his speech he also characterized the Greek language as holy language, mentioning that the Jewish Torah is allowed to be written only in the two holy languages, Hebrew and Greek.

In the beginning of his speech, some members of the audience in the Old Parliament Building in Athens, unfolded a Palestinian flag.
